I received my PhD in Communication at the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2017 and now I am a lecturer in Communication at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. My research explores the intersection of communication, culture, and technology in Chinese society, with a particular focus on issues around identity, social relationships, and political actions. As a communication scholar specialized in language and social interaction, I adopt discourse analytic approaches in my research. My current research interest is in examining how new forms of mediation on digital platforms are changing the ways people perform social and political actions in China. My work has been published in the Journal of Communication and Journal of International and Intercultural Communication, among others.
